Abstract:

Rhabdomyosarcoma encompasses a group of malignant myogenic neoplasms expressing a multitude of clinical and pathological diversities. It is the commonest soft tissue sarcoma of childhood but neonates are rarely affected. Embryonal subtype is the most frequent. Head-neck and genitourinary tracts are predominant sites, while trunk is considered among the unusual sites of rhabdomyosarcoma. Herein we report a case of anaplastic rhabdomyosarcoma in a newborn girl presenting, at the Pediatric Surgery Outpatient Department of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, India in 2013 with a large tumor MASS in the left flank region, arising from ABDOMINAL wall muscles.

Abstract:

Although the majority of mesenchymal lesions of the gastrointestinal tract are neoplastic in nature, but nonneoplastic reactive processes may also involve the gastrointestinal tract and mesentery. Some more aggressive neoplasms located in same area, such as fibromatosis or gastrointestinal stromal tumors may be cause of diagnostic confusion. Reactive nodular fibrous pseudo tumor (RNFP) of the gastrointestinal tract and mesentery is a recently recognized entity. Here we present one such lesion in 71 years-old- man with a history of ABDOMINAL surgery. The tumor was firm, tan- white colored, ranged in size 19.5 cm in greatest dimension, and was grossly well circumscribed. Histologically it is composed of spindle-shaped cells resembling fibroblasts arranged haphazardly or in intersecting fascicles, embedded in a collagen-rich stroma with sparse intralesional lymphoid cells frequently arranged in aggregates. We present a case of this entity have largest tumor and also due to the rarity.

Abstract:

Cystic fibrosis is an inherited multi-system disease, characterized by respiratory and digestive system disorders. We describe a 14-year-old cystic fibrosis patient with chronic ABDOMINAL pain and a right lower quadrant MASS Diagnostic laparotomy was performed and pathological results revealed the etiology of MASS as phlegman. In patients with cystic fibrosis, a lower quadrant MASS may be a difficult diagnostic problem. Most frequently, it is due to a distal intestinal obstruction syndrome, but the possibility of intussusception and appendiceal abscess should also be considered. It seems that finding the cause of an ABDOMINAL MASS in cystic fibrosis patients needs a closer attention.

Abstract:

Background: Osteochondroma is the most common benign tumor of the bone. Case Report: In this case, we present a young patient complaining of sensation of a MASS in her abdomen since a few weeks ago and ABDOMINAL pain, which caused her visit to the clinic. Imaging studies revealed a well-defined lobulated lesion, and pathological examination was correlated with osteochondroma of the iliac bone. Conclusion: This site for osteochondroma is very rare, and this case was the solitary type.

Abstract:

BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVE: Splenic cysts are rare and usually are found incidentally. They are based on the presence or absence of epithelial lining, classified as true or false. True cysts are subdivided into parasitic and nonparasitic. The aim of this report was to introduce a case of splenic mesothelial cyst that is rare.CASE: A case was discovered of splenic mesothelial cyst in a 19 year old female that was caused progressive bulging abdomen for a year ago to come this educational-treatment center. There was no history of trauma. Physical examination revealed a visible bulging MASS in the left of abdomen that was asymptomatic. The lesion was shown a MASS with dimension 17 x 11 x 18 cm and visceral ABDOMINAL shifted toward anterior by ABDOMINAL sonography and computered tomography scan. The MASS was operated. After 3 months of follow up, the lesion was not observed.CONCLUSION: Splenic cysts should be considered in differential diagnosis of ABDOMINAL MASSes.

Abstract:

Gastric bezoars results from the accumulation of foreign ingested materials in the form of MASSes or concretions. Bezoars are rare and being found in less than 0.5 percent of patients undergoing upper gastrointestinal endoscopies. Bezoars are classified according to their composition. The major types of bezoars are phytobezoars, trichobezoars and pharmacobezoars. Trichobezoars are typically seen in the women in their 20s. Patients with bezoar remain asymptomatic for many years and develop symptoms insidiously. Common complaints include ABDOMINAL pain, nausea, vomiting, early satiety, anorexia and weight loss. Bezoars have rarely been associated with other gastrointestinal complications such as gastric outlet obstruction (GOO), intestinal obstruction, gastrointestinal bleeding, gastrointestinal perforation, necrotizing pancreatitis, obstructive jaundice, hypochromic anemia, B12 deficiency and ABDOMINAL MASS.In our case thrichobezoare manifested with an ABDOMINAL MASS and hypochromic anemia.
